This area that housed the butterflies sourced from Africa, Asia and the Americas, felt sauna-ish and the stickiness of the warm atmosphere could be felt immediately as we walked in. There were flutters seen from all the butterflies around us.
What was fun about the experience?
Having so many different places to look towards
What was learnt?
How the eggs were not scattered around the area but placed inside a special box so that they would be easier to keep an eye on after they hatch
What did the kids like most about the exhibition?
Spotting the butterflies amongst the greenery
Any funny moments when we were there?
When they saw the butterflies landing on each other and found this amusing!
What did I say to the kids?
One of the kiddies was a bit worried about the flying insects and kept ducking, however it was mentioned and reassured to him:
Don’t worry, the butterflies won’t harm you whilst they’re flying above us, let’s keep going round the path
Do you recommend as a play date?
Yes I would, it’s fascinating seeing the butterflies so up-close. The butterfly route through the exhibition is quite short so maybe plan to see the rest of the exhibitions in the larger building of the museum
